George Daniel Wood
1970-2019
George Daniel Wood, May 14, 1970 – May 10, 2019,
passed away suddenly at his home in Fredericton, NB. He was
born in Minto, NB, the son of the late Donald George Wood and Donna
Elizabeth Roop.
George is survived by his life partner of 23 years, Sara Amos
and their daughter Sahara of Fredericton, NB, stepdaughter Samantha
Johnston of Fredericton, NB, brother Daniel Patrick Wood of Vancouver,
BC, half-sister Donna Mae Jonah of Bonnyville, AB, uncles Wayne Wood
(Nancy) and Ronald Wood (Louise) of Minto, NB, aunt Pauline Roop of
Lincoln, NB, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his
paternal grandparents, George William and Hazel Viola Wood (nee
Henderson) of Minto, NB, maternal grandparents, Daniel Smith and Mary
Anne Roop (nee Roy) of Saint John, NB, uncle Maurice Wood and his wife
Bessie of Minto, NB.
George, lovingly known as «Georgie» to his family,
was a graduate of Fredericton High School and of the Stratford Career
Institute having obtained a Certificate in
Locksmithing.
A private graveside service and interment of
George’s ashes will take place in the Wood Family Plot,
Wallbridge Cemetery, Minto, NB.
Gone but not forgotten. He lives in the hearts of
his loved ones and in the memory of all those who knew him.
He will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
