Obituary of Elsie Mae Sarty
SARTY (FISHER), Elsie Mae – Age 86, of Hebb’s Cross, passed away on May 7, 2019, at home. Born on July 28, 1932 in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Amelia (Sharpe) Fisher. Elsie was a member of the Brunswick Street United Church, Halifax. Growing up the church helped her family. She loved Bingo and her Lexicon puzzles. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Hebb’s Cross until she was not able to as a result of her knee surgery/arthritis. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Donna; sons, Tim (Corrina) and Todd (Tammy); sisters, Noreen Jones, Bridgewater and Joyce Marchand, Louisdale; brother, Reg (Carolyn) Fisher, Lucasville, Halifax County; grandchildren, Bethany, Samantha, Lauren, Stacey and Andrew; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Arielle and Silas; nieces, Fern and Charlotte. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Clyde K. Sarty; sisters, Rhoda Boutilier and Irene Metz; brothers, Tom, Edgar, Howard, Gilbert and Clyde. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater with a visitation from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 10. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 from the Middlewood United Church, Middlewood, Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. A private family burial will be held in Crouse Settlement Road Cemetery, Italy Cross following the service. A reception will be held at the Hebb’s Cross Fire Department. Family flowers only.
