Donna Gloria Belle Walsh (nee Freake) gracefully and peacefully faced death on May 4, 2019 after a brave attempt to overcome adversity.
Left to celebrate her life and legacy are her loving children Bryan (Robyn), Lynne (Bob), Jeff (Sandy), Gayle (Alan), Dion (Sharon) and Deatra (Gerald); her darling grandchildren Bryan Jr., Maggie, Richard, Jason, Chantelle, Dillon, Julia, Zakary and Drew; her partner in life, Freeman, his daughter Candace (Paul) and grandchildren Ashton and Luke, and all of the beautiful Lewis family.
She is surrounded in life by the large and adoring Walsh and Freake families, including many nieces and nephews, and her brothers Dex (Lorraine), Larry, and sisters Annie and Bonnie. She has many friends who will miss her. In death, she will join her husband Wilson, her brothers and sisters, and her parents who went before her.
Donna lived her life to the fullest. She met each day with determination, passion, class and humour, and instilled in all who knew her the importance of valuing yourself, working hard, and looking good. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to the Donna Walsh Memorial fund, which will support projects to improve the lives of women and children in the Lewisporte area. The fund will sit with Scotiabank.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Tuesday, May 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will take place from St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte on Wednesday, May 8th at 2 PM. Interment will follow from the United Church Cemetery.
