Charles «Chuck» Michael Buttner

In loving memory of Chuck Buttner who passed away on April 27th, 2019.
Chuck was born in Nipigon, ON November 7th, 1959. His parents Bob and Pat Buttner later moved to Fort Frances, ON where he grew up and spent his childhood. In Chuck’s early days he loved to spend his time outdoors fishing, going on adventures and causing some sort of havoc with his random decisions and fear of nothing. He especially loved his days spent fishing with his uncle and cousin Larry. As he got older he enjoyed making videos of him and his friend Johnny trying to jump their bikes or going for drives for giant donuts. Chuck always had a fondness for sweets, whether it be eating all of the ice cream in the house, baked goods and especially chocolate. Chuck would go on trips to his Aunty Joan’s cabin at which time he tried his hand at skiing, but he quickly found out was not for him. He was known for being the best snow fort builder around. Chuck loved to joke, tease, be a pain in the butt just to see someone smile.
Later in life he met and married Pamela Desbiens and shortly after they welcomed his daughter Cynthia. Chuck spent the better part of his days doing everything he could to make her happy and she always was daddy’s little girl. Cynthia gave him three grandchildren Will, Johnny and Hailey to which they became his world and the light of his life.
Over the years Chuck would always be there babysitting one of his friends children, taking them all on as many adventures as he could provide from teaching how to fish, camping, swimming days, anything he could to make them smile. He always had the biggest heart of gold and if you needed anything at all, he was there to help. He was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back if it meant helping.
Chuck was pre-deceased by both his parents Bob and Pat Buttner. He is survived by his ex-wife Pam, who no matter what always had a place in his heart. His daughter Cynthia Gibbins (Dylan). Grand children Will Gibbins, Johnny Gibbins and Hailey Gibbins. Siblings Wayne Buttner (Clara), Nita Otto (Fred), Andy Buttner (Susan) and Missy Lockhart. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 2pm. in the Fellowship Hall of First United Church in Dryden, ON.
