It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Carmeline (Poppy) Veccia nee Gauthier on May 26th, 2019 in Sudbury. Daughter (step-daughter) of the late Mary and Theophile LeClair and the late Wilfrid Gauthier. Beloved wife of Rolando Veccia (predeceased in 2011). Loving mother of Carolyn Ludgate (Brian) and Jamie Armstrong (Robert). Devoted Noni to Kevin (Carrie), Stephen (Jasmine), David (Jessica), Brittney (Taylor) and Bisnoni to Phoenix, Gemma, and Maverick. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Sister to Lorenza Totman (Roy predeceased), Freda Bourrier (Albert predeceased), Mary Piche (Ron), Arthur Gauthier (Rose), and the late George and Wilfred Gauthier. Step-Sister to Brenda Diebel (David), Phyllis Levesque (Frank), Keith LeClair (Diane) and Theodora Staley (Jeff). Sister-in-law to Bruna Souliere (Larry predeceased) and the late Elio Veccia (Joanne) and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carmeline enjoyed spending time at her Apsey camp where everyone was welcomed; she was like a second mom to many. As her daughters, we are grateful to our mom for teaching us to be strong and to be giving to others – she always had a smile to share. Mom was also an animal lover. She especially cherished her furry companion Jiji, and she also loved visiting her cabin at Red Deer Village where she could watch the deer grazing out her window. After a difficult journey, mom has gone home to her Saviour Jesus Christ.
Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street Sudbury at Hazel where friends may gather from 5-8pm Friday, May 31st, 2019. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Church, 78 Balsam Street, Copper Cliff on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at 10:30am. Interment in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Donation to Pulmonary Fibrosis would be appreciated.
