Buck Chow Wong passed away on May 20, 2019 in Victoria, BC. at the age of 90 at Royal Jubilee Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Jean and his children Wayne (Linda), Anna (Allan), and David (Lan), as well as his grandchildren, Melissa, Tamara, Lucas, Michaela, and Dante.
Buck was born April 3, 1929 in Kaiping, China. He arrived in Canada in 1952 and lived in Lethbridge, Alberta. He met his wife Jean and they married in 1958. The family moved to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan in 1962 where Buck worked in a Chinese restaurant with Jean’s brother. Finally, the family settled in Victoria B.C. in 1966. Buck soon found a job working at BC Ferries as a cook, where he remained until his retirement in 1991. Following his retirement, he and Jean enjoyed travelling to several different countries, spending time with friends, and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will be missed by his family and friends. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
