At the tender age of 24, he left his birthplace, Alife Caserta Italy, his family his friends and whatever possessions he had, and set off on an adventure to a brand new world. He began his new life with only a few dollars in his pocket and an unbelievable drive to create a new life for himself.
With heavy hearts and much sadness, we announce that a husband, father, nonno and zio has passed, after a short battle with cancer. Salvatore is predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Livia as well as his 6 older siblings. He is survived by Bianca, his wife of 62 years; his children; Rosalie, Tony (Angela) and 3 loving grandchildren; Thomas (Jenna), Marisa and Timothy. He is also survived by 3 generations of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his generation.
We are mindful of the sacrifices he made for us as we carry on without him. Now, it is his turn to rest in peace.
Special thanks go to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Palliative Care Unit of Jean Talon Hospital, who helped him through his final days.
Visitations will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 PieIX Blvd, Montreal, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.and on Thursday morning as of 8:30 a.m.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the chapel of the Complex thence to the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery.
