Obituary for William (Bill) Nelson LaFerla
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the peaceful passing of my wonderful father and best friend on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Emmanuel House Hospice. William was father of Melissa Wedgewood (Ryan) and grandfather of his best buddy Tyler. He was a loved son of Yvonne and Frank (2007) and cherished brother of Ken (Muriel), John (Gillian) and Shelley. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. William was an active member of The First Unitarian Church of Hamilton where he sang in the choir and was part of several committees throughout his time there. William was a talented artist who shared his gift of art with so many students. He was blessed with love from several lifelong friendships and he will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank Christina from VON and the entire compassionate and professional staff at Emmanuel House Hospice for the care he received.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Unitarian Church in Hamilton at 170 Dundurn Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Emmanuel House Hospice will be graciously accepted.
