Robert Miller
1943-2019
It is with great sadness that we announce that Robert M.
Miller of Riverview, NB, died peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont
University Hospital Centre in the early morning of April 15, 2019,
following a lengthy illness. Born in Oxford, NS, he was the son of the
late Charles and Cora (Rushton) Miller, both of Oxford,
NS.
Robert had a decades-long career as a journalist with The
Moncton Times, The Moncton Transcript and, after the merger of the two
papers, The Moncton Times-Transcript. He retired from the newspaper in
July 1996. He was devoted to family, friends and his beloved Los
Angeles Dodgers. He was a lifelong Montreal Canadiens
fan.
Robert will be forever in the hearts of his wife, Sharon
(Lutes) Miller; his son, Robert; two daughters, Krista (Steve) and
Sonia; his daughter-in-law, Wu Jingyan; his three grandchildren,
Morgan, Robert, and Brianna; his sister-in-law Jean Cambers; his
brother-in-law Brian Cambers; his nephews, Michael (Gail), Jamie
(Catherine) and his niece, Denise (Ryan).
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Cora
(Rushton) Miller, and by his mother-in-law, Alice (Fletcher)
Lutes.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 5-8 pm.
A service celebrating Robert’s life will be held on
Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 11 am in the funeral home. A reception
will follow. Donations to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be
welcomed by the family.
