Lester G.
Morton, 87, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at the Victoria
General Hospital, Halifax, NS to be with his Lord and Saviour, the
Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 29,
2019.
Lester
attended the Gospel Hall in Moncton, Saint John and Halifax and was
saved for 65 years. He was a retired Carman with the CNR with 38
years’ service. He loved his time at the camp in Elgin and
enjoyed hunting, reading and travelling. Lester enjoyed his family,
especially his grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Lester will
be sadly missed by his children, Daryl (Holly) of Kingston, Marlene
Davis (Glen) of Calgary, AB and Neil (Renata) of Fall River, NS;
grandchildren, Sarah, Korey (Shalyn), Matthew (Christina), Brittany
and Kaleb (Jenna), all of Calgary; Daniel (Marissa) of Bellisle Creek;
Seth (Jessica) of Kingston, William of Quispamsis and
Elkanah, of Kingston; Ariana, Ethan, Owen and Amy, all of Fall River;
great grandchildren, Tayla, Ryker and Mikayla of Calgary, Isaiah of
Bellisle Creek, Timothy and Finley of Kingston; brother, Cecil
(Margaret) of Ottawa, ON; many nieces and
nephews.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rhoda Jean (Thurrott)
Morton (April 2015) and six brothers, Allison, Austin, Earl, Ernest,
Ivan and Ralph.
Resting at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to remember
and honour Lester’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral
Home on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 am, with Evangelist Jonathan
Procopio officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre
following the service. Interment will be in Gladeside
Cemetery.
