Obituary of Leah Lucretia Scott
SCOTT, Leah Lucretia – Age 98, resident of Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg, formerly of Bridgewater, Sackville and Newburne, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Newburne, she was a daughter of the late Dilphen and Hilda (Wentzell) Veinotte.
Leah enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
Surviving are her son, Merlyn (Jessie) Joudrey, Sheet Harbour; grandchildren, Leon Joudrey, Truro; Cora Lee Joudrey, Musquodoboit Harbour; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Natalie, Olivia and Gavin; many nieces and nephews including Iris and Karsa who supported her after her move. She was predeceased by husband, Clarence “Scottie” Scott; brothers, Raymond, Walter, Ralph, Aubrey and Basil.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, April 27th in Bridgewater Open Bible Church, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 1 p.m. Pastor Jeff Woodcock officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery, Newburne. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Bridgewater Open Bible Church. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.
