Aukje W.’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Aukje Willemina Gurtler (Reinders) on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the age of 92 years.
Mom was predeceased by our Dad, George Gurtler, as well as by her parents Tjasse and Abramlina Reinders, and brothers Auke, Rank and Harry Reinders.
Mom will be sadly missed by her children Janet (Dave) Kamieniecki, Garry (Trudy) Gurtler, Glen (Barb) Gurtler, Wilma (Glen) Gache, and Kelly Gurtler. She will be forever remembered by her Grandchildren Carson & Tina Kamieniecki, Kristi & Brad Nicklason, Lee & Samantha Kamieniecki, Amber & Matt Wilcox, Ethan Gurtler, Roslyn & Steve Harpe, Janelle & Reggie Kirkpatrick, Christa & Dallas Fuchs, Kelsey Gamble & Dexter Murray, and Braden Gamble. Great Grandchildren Cassie, Leland & Lucas Kamieniecki, Cole & Bree Nicklason, Kade, Rachel & Shay Wilcox, Hayden & Kashton Harpe, Makenna Kirkpatrick, Ty and Braidy Fuchs as well as siblings Hip & Anna Reinders, John & Audrey Reinders, Chester & Patsy Reinders, Lena & Allan Armbruster , inlaws Pat Reinders, Sheila Reinders, Teresa Mantyka, Carl and Linda Gurtler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom’s passions included working in the garden, anything music and going for drives to check on the fields. Her greatest pride was her family. Mom was a consistent spectator at any activity her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren were involved in.
Mom’s funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019, 2:00 pm at the Deadwood Community Hall, luncheon to follow. Interment will be at the North Star Cemetery.
We would like to thank staff of the DelAir Lodge, Manning Home Care, Manning Community Health Center, and Manning Long Term Care, who helped us to care for Mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DelAir Lodge or the Manning Long Term Care.
