Obituary for William ‘Billy’ Donaldson

William (Billy) John Donaldson passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on January 22, 2019 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on April 30, 1955 to Iris and William Donaldson, moving to Canada at age 2. He was an avid fisherman, loved the great outdoors, animals, and was a gifted musician, known for his witty sense of humour. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Christine (Simo), Terri, Lisa and Susan (Martin) and their children, Brettany, Brandon, Bronwyn, William, Ryan, Melissa, Kyle, Megan and his dear friends Robbie and Milo. He left us too soon and his courage and resilience will continue to inspire us all. Sincere thanks to the staff and physicians at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital for their care and support.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at the Collingwood Legion on Saturday March 2nd from 1-5 p.m. and we invite all to come and share stories and Billy’s music.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Billy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
