Steven Budd
1944-2019
Steven Donald Budd, 74, of Colpitts
Settlement passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Born
in Gallagher Ridge, NB, he was the beloved spouse of Lois Budd nee
Boomhour, for over 52 years and son of the late Cleveland and Irene
(Trites) Budd.
Steve was a retired Cpl. for
the Canadian Armed Forces. He had his journeyman’s license
as a mechanic and worked in Manitoba for some time and for CN Rail. He
later started his own Logging Company producing pulp and firewood. He
was a jack of all trades and a hands-on learner. Steven was ambitious
and always completed what he set out to do. He felt most at home when
he was outdoors. He enjoyed tapping trees to make maple syrup, and
building many things, including his sugar shack, his log home, his own
band-saw, and a large kitchen table that served his greatest passion,
dinners enjoyed with his large family.
In addition to his wife, Steven is
survived and sadly missed by his children, Steven Nelson Budd (Lui) of
Greenwood, NS, Kristal Irene Lounsbury nee Budd (Danny Goddard), and
David Nathan Budd (Nikki Goguen-Budd) all of Salisbury; grandchildren,
Steven Budd of Fredericton, Ryan Budd (Morgan) of Halifax, Micheala
Lounsbury of Red Deer, AB, Nathan Lounsbury, Tyler and Brittny Goddard
(Ryan) all from the greater Moncton area, and TJ (Tony)
Goguen (Carrie) of Red Deer, AB; siblings, Beth Dawson
(Murray) Of Bible Hill, NS and Phillip Budd (Violet) of Gallagher
Ridge; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; special
friends Joan & Alan Hill and Ralph MacArthur; and many
honourary members of the Budd family.
Besides his parents, Steven was
predeceased by his infant brother, Robert; sisters, Ellen Price
(Garnett), Cathy Quinlan (Byron), Brenda Rose, Christina Crossman
(George), Oney Beers (Benny), Shirley Pitre (Vincent), as well as
several nephews.
As per Steven’s wishes there will be no
formal services. Family and friends are invited to a casual gathering
at Salisbury United Church, 78 Smith St, Salisbury, NB on Saturday,
February 23, 2019 from 1 – 4 pm, with a short blessing by Rev. Stephen
Brown and words of remembrance beginning at 1pm. Please dress
casually.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to
the Salisbury Helping Hands Food Bank would be appreciated by the
family.
