Paula Celeste
Pobihushchy, 56, of Fredericton, passed away peacefully with her
family and closest friends at her side on Friday, February 8, 2019 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s Hospital
(DECH).
Paula worked
at the DECH for several years having spent the majority of her time in
the Xray department.
Paula was a
gift. A social butterfly with an infectious laugh, she loved spending
time with family and friends, listening to music and dancing. She made
it her lifelong practice to advocate for the underdog, being a support
to anyone in need.
Although Paula
did not have children of her own, she treasured her nieces and
nephews.
She will be
lovingly remembered and forever missed by her mother Joy, father
Sidney (pre-deceased), her siblings and their spouses Leah and Denis,
Chris and Kate, Teesa and Mark and Andrea and Darren, partner Mark,
her nieces and nephews Alexandre, Mylène, Nikola, Natasha,
Maria, Joshua, Alexis, Christopher and Gregory, and step-children
Courtney, Tyler and Aaron.
Paula’s family thanks the caring doctors,
nurses and staff in the ICU and palliative care unit at the DECH. A
special thanks to Dr. Gordon MacDonald for his compassion. At last,
she took a deep breath and let it go. She breathes easy
now.
In memory of
Paula, donations to Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Canada Inc. are
welcome and appreciated. A memorial service will follow at a later
date.
