Obituary of Marie Hoogendoorn
HOOGENDOORN, Marie (nee Van Elswyk)
After a full and wonderful life, Mom passed into glory on February 20, 2019 with her family by her side, in her 85th year. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John (2007), the love of her life for 54 years. She leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories for her children, Bill (Theresa), Jeanette (Lou) Halper, Fred (Rose), Richard (deceased 2005), Ron, Jeff (Pat) and Rob (Dell). Gramma/Oma was greatly loved by her 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. We will miss her laughter and fun times that we all had together. She will be forever cherished by family here in Canada and in the Netherlands. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruitland Christian Reformed Church, 805 Highway 8, Stoney Creek. Interment to follow at the Mountview Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to World Renew 3475 Mainway, Station LCD 1, Burlington, Ontario L&R 3Y8, would be appreciated by the family.
