Obituary for Maria DeLuca

On February 12, 2019, Maria DeLuca passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 83 years. The kitchen is silent. There are no sounds of baking or smells of coffee brewing on the stove. Gone is the sound of her laughter. There is no longer a comforting shoulder upon which to lay our troubles. She was our sunshine and we are lost without her.
Maria is survived by her husband, Francesco; two sons and one daughter, Luigi, Barbara and Antonio (Maria); four grandchildren, Kassandra (Carmelo), Francesco, Marco and Emma.
Thank you to the staff of the Sturgeon Hospital and homecare for the care and compassion shown to Maria.
Prayer Service Tuesday, February 19 at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church. Reverend Domenico Rettura CFIC officiating with entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made directly to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, HRIF – East 1 – 020, 1A University Campus NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 9Z9.
