Passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of Ina Kapshey for 43 years.
Loving father of Linda Mitchell (Paul) and Diane Marshall.
Cherished grandfather of Alexandra Hill, Jake Mitchell and Taylor Mitchell.
Dear brother of Peter, Michael, Nick and Mary Ann Hummel (Bruce).
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
John was the sales director for Sunworthy Wall Coverings for many years and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years.
John’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation- Cancer Centre or the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
