August 7, 1927 – February 24, 2019
Heaven gained an angel when George Randolph Reed of Fredericton, NB beloved husband of Marjorie (Currie) Reed , passed away February 24, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on August 7, 1927 in Bright Parish, NB he was the son of the late Charles and Ella (Christie) Reed.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, George is survived by his children, Faye Smith of Saint John, NB, Tony Reed (Debbie) of Scotch Lake, NB; half-brother, Charles Reed (Marsha) of Keswick Ridge, NB; grandchildren, Kim Smith (Terry), Kari McAfee (Greg), Brandon Reed (Jen), Brianne Reed (Brady); great grandchildren, Quinn and Avery Smith and Ivy McAfee. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his step mother, Edith Reed.

George spent his entire 31 year career as a mechanic at DOT. Being a man of few words, he was a handyman and jack of all trades in his close knit community and church. He and Marjorie enjoyed Sunday drives often leading to a restaurant , and lets not forget his coffee at Tim Hortons. Above all, George loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren who always put a smile on his face.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 1 until 2 pm; followed by a service at 2 pm with Rev. Peter

Beckwith and Rev. Hubert Perkins officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Scotch Settlement Union Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB. Personal condolence may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
