Gary Mitchell Trask
1949-2019
It is with a heavy heart and sadness
that the family of Gary Mitchell
Trask announce his passing on Wednesday
February 20th, 2019 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a
courageous battle with cancer. Born April 02, 1949
in Joggins, NS, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Langille)
Trask.
Gary was a client of the GOVRC Workshop
in Springhill where he worked from 1985 until retirement in
2018.
He looked forward each day to working with his boss,
Ernie Rolfe, who always made him laugh, and enjoyed the many friends
he made there. He
loved biking, going for walks, having coffee with his friends and his
cat, Blackie. He also loved watching movies. Gary was very proud to
have his own apartment, and with the help of Sunset Community and Joy,
Christy, and Matt, as well as others.
Gary is survived by his sister, Beverly
(late Phillip) Bennett, of HIllsborough, NB, and her children, Rick
(Tammy) and Joanne (Robert); devoted niece, Lisa (Mike Gautreau) Wood,
of Moncton, NB and her children, Amanda (Billy) and Terry (Angie), as
well as his great great nephew, Tyshon and several great nieces and
nephews. Gary was blessed to have a loving
girlfriend, Sherry.
Besides his parents, Gary was
predeceased by his brother, Joseph Jr, and his sister, Sharon
Wood.
Arrangements are under the care
of The Jones Family Funeral
Centre, (formerly Furlong~Jones Funeral Home), 70
Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from where a time to gather and
celebrate Gary’s life will take place on Saturday, March 2 from 2-4
pm. Burial will take place in the River Hebert
Cemetery in the Spring.
Donations in memory of Gary
may be made to the GOVRC Workshop in Springhill, or the Joggins and
River Hebert Fire Department.
