Eric James Harrison, age 87, of Stratford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Stratford General Hospital on February 21, 2019. Born in Goderich Township, March 23, 1931, son of the late Elliott and Charlotte Harrison.
Eric was employed with the CNR until 1964 when he apprenticed as an Automotive Service Technician. He worked at Stan Beckners Esso Station until 1983 when he renamed it Eric’s Service Centre, moving to Corcoran Street in 1985 where he worked until retiring in 2011.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Lynch) who predeceased him April 16, 2018. Loving father of Cheryl Linton (Alan), Ron Harrison (Barb), Darlene Harrison (Bill), Neil Harrison (Susan) and Angie Skinner (Dave). Grandfather of Rodney Harrison (Kelley), Amanda Harrison (Brandon), Brittany Harrison, Darla Wicke, Erica Boon (Ken), Ryan Harrison, Ashley Kalbfleisch (Dan), Nadine Skinner, Rachel Skinner (Mitch) and great grandfather of Demi, Rome, Ryker, Piper, Dominic, Emilia, Jackson, Lucas and Emerson. Also survived by sister Pauline Dunbar, sister-in-law June Bond and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Ronald Harrison in infancy, sister-in-law Irene Miller (Fred), Gloria Avis and brother-in-law Don Dunbar.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Stratford General Hospital for their care and compassion over the last few weeks.
