David Adolf Appel was born October 14, 1936 and passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Dave was born in Saskatchewan and moved with his large family to Kelowna in 1943. Dave worked at the mill in Kelowna for 37 years. After retiring he loved to spend time camping, fishing and hunting.
Dave was predeceased by his wife Greta in 1998. He is survived by three children: Shane, Randy (Teresa) and Donna (James) Harriett; five grandchildren; sisters Doreen and Violet; brothers Rynald, Walter, Alfred, Johnny and William; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna. Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Dave’s name to the Kelowna Hospice House – 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2Z6.
