It is with great sadness that the family of the late Andrew Wayne Murphy announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital surrounded by family on February 15, 2019 at the age of 61 years. Reunited forever with his wife Ann Marie Murphy who passed on January 22nd 2019. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories of their only son, are his parents Edward and Thelma Murphy, formerly of Kippens. Andy was loving father of two sons Andy (Melanie) in Langford BC. Stephen in Fort McMurray, AB and one daughter Brittany (Adam) Wilcox, Grimshaw, AB. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren Ryland, Logan, Iyla, Liam, Anna Lynn, Steven, Michael, Everly and Colton; his sisters Debbie Murphy, Betty (Brian) Turpin, Monica Murphy, and Marsha (Dave) Hiscock, sister-in-law Brenda Butler, brother-in-law Pat (Brenda) and a large circle of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
As per Andrew’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to gather at the Chapel at Russell’s Funeral home on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2:30 pm for a celebration of Andy’s life. Inurnment will follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the nursing and support staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their professionalism, kindness and compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.
