On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Alexander Shewchuk of Edmonton passed away at the age of 93 years.
Alex is survived by Eila, his loving wife of 61 years; two sons and one daughter, Larry (Karen), Lorne and Sharon (Jeff); four grandchildren, Ryan Shewchuk, and Rebecca, Amanda and Jason Foster; three sisters, Natalka, Irene and Luba; as well as many relatives and close friends, including two families in Ukraine with whom he kept in touch. Predeceased by parents, Wladimir and Anna; and three sisters, Daria, Leona and Lydia.
Funeral Service Tuesday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Reverend Father Michael Maranchuk officiating with interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made in Alex’ honour directly to a charity of one’s choice.
