Obituary William (Bill) Ricker Goodwin
William (Bill) Goodwin of Kemptville, NS, passed away on December 31, 2018. Born in Yarmouth, November 17, 1928, son of the late William and Blanche (Ring) Goodwin. Bill is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Gladys (Mood); son Rick (Paulette) Goodwin, Kemptville; daughters Sheryl Spinney, Yarmouth and V. Nadine Comeau, Forest Glen. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Sister Lillian Woodburn, Brother Bradford and grandson Tyler E. Allen. He worked most of his life in the woods. Bill was a care-taker and guide at Birchdale Camp Ltd and also worked for Vic Bain Logging Operation for a number of years. After retiring he enjoyed taking his tractor to his wood lot cutting logs and firewood. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Kemptville. Cremation has taken place by Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Church service will take place at Victory Baptist Church Saturday January 5, 2019 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Joey Ring officiating. A private family committal service will take place at a later date in Lake View Cemetery, Kemptville. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
