Obituary of William «Bill» Derbyshire
DERBYSHIRE, William “Bill” –
On Monday, January 21, 2019 we lost a true gentleman. Bill passed away in Palliative Care at the Brantford General Hospital at the age of 94. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 70 years, Audrey; his loving daughters Cathy Telfer (Bob) of Chatham and Sandy Parker of Brantford; his granddaughter Cory Woodrow (Mark) and their daughter Amanda and son Jamie of Chatham. Bill is predeceased by his parents Fred and Minnie, his brother Lynn and his sister-in-law Dorothy and her husband Bert MacGirr. Bill’s four year military career in the RCCS signal corps 1942-46 took him through the UK, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Following fifteen years at Massey Ferguson he joined the sales division of Gates Canada. He served thirty years before retiring as sales manager in the industrial division for Canada. Bill was a former member of the Brant Curling Club, Reba Lodge and enjoyed golf into his eighties when he scored his first hole-in-one. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the Hospitality Suite at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Rd. North on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. If wished, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Brant Community Healthcare System would be gratefully appreciated.
We will miss our husband, dad and papa so much. Rest easy dad.
