Wilbert Charles Currie
March 4, 1932 – January 8, 2019
The passing of Wilbert Charles Currie of Fredericton, NB husband of Donna (Nicholson) Currie occurred on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 4, 1932 in Royal Road, NB, he was the son of the late Donald and Doris (Leslie) Currie.
Wilbert was very proud to be a part of the construction of roads as a truck driver during the building of the Mactaquac dam. He later retired as a mechanic and school bus driver. Wilbert was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church.
In addition to his wife, Wilbert is survived by his daughter, Joanne Currie-Peck (Douglas Peck) and son, Gregory Currie (Michelle) both of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter, Alyssa Joy Brewer (Nick Spear); sister, Maxine Boone of Fredericton, NB; sisters-in-law, Joan Crawford (Brian), Carolyn O’Leary (Ward); brothers-in-law, Winston Nicholson (Betty), Wayne Nicholson (Marie), Allison Nicholson (Marilyn); several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Wilbert was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Sam Boone and Charles Nicholson (Terry).

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 3 pm with Rev Kay Clowater officiating.
Interment will take place at Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
