OBITUARY
Ronald George Wilson
June 25, 1935 – January 6, 2019
Wilson, Ronald George – Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on January 6, 2019 in his 84th year. Adored husband and singing partner of Nola Wilson. Predeceased by his first wife Gillian. Loving father of Mark (Linda Dundas) and Sian (Paul Hickey). Cherished stepfather of Adam Haesler and Aaron Haesler (Emily). Treasured Grandpa of Connor Wilson and Graydon Haesler and proud Great-Grandpa of Elijah Wilson. Son of the late Leonard and Birdell Wilson. Dear brother of Nancy Laidley (Bob), Ted Wilson (Kerri) and Tim Wilson (Jane). Ron’s two joys in life were making music and creating beautiful paintings. His amazing singing voice was a blessing to many in both the church world and the community. He sang every chance he got, beginning at age 19 as a band singer with the Bobby Kinsman orchestra. His music brought peace and comfort to many people at Northminster United Church, Bridgenorth United Church and Murray Street Baptist Church. Early in life he joined the Peterborough barbershop chorus and spent most of his life as a barbershop singer. In his senior years he sang his heart out with his buddies in vocal group Java Jive. As a graphic artist and art director, he shared his artistic talent in the early years with CHEX TV, Maxwell Printing, Total Graphics and then owned and operated his own business, Ron Wilson and Associates. His beautiful paintings adorn the walls of many family and friends’ homes. Ron loved animals, and he and Nola rescued, fostered and adopted many, many dogs over the years. He was a “dog whisperer,” always the one who could bring peace to a distressed dog, and love to an animal who had never had any. A beautiful soul, a calm and welcoming presence, a loving and dearly missed rock. Friends are invited to visit the family on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. at COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street.
