Robert (Bob) Labossiere passed away on January 1, 2019 in Arborg, Manitoba at age 64 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his brother Guy in 1964, father Gaetan in 1990, and mother Bella in 1991.
Bob loved a good book and wanted to tell his own story.
I leave my wonderful wife of 43 years, Debbie. She was my wife, my nurse, my rock, and my anchor through all the hard times. I also leave my three sons, Barrett (Janice), Shaun (Carly), and Derek (Alyssa); my brothers Mike (Wendy), Don, and sister Lisette, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I was born in Swan Lake, Manitoba on March 6, 1954, and lived in Glenboro as a child. In 1967, we moved to Cromer where I finished my last half of grade 8 in a two room country school where I had the best school experience of my life. I went to Virden Collegiate, where I graduated with honours.
I joined Manitoba Hydro in June 1974. On October 11, 1975, I married Debbie and in January 1978, I accepted a job in Thompson, where I worked for 10 years and where my three sons were born. In 1988, I transferred to Arborg and worked there until the end of my career in 2012, where I retired as a Senior Electrical Technician. I enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, and spending time with Debbie and the boys.
Bob will be remembered as a father who loved coaching and watching his boys play baseball and hockey. He always looked for humour in every situation, even as he fought cancer.
Interment was held on January 11, 2019 with a family graveside service.
