It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Remmelt (Ron) Schelhaas, age 86, gone home to meet Jesus. He was born at Hoogeveen, Drenthe, The Netherlands to the late Cornelius and Trientje Schelhaas. Beloved husband for 59 years of Stephanie Schelhaas, and loving father of Conroy (Kim), Coby (Rob), Paul (Pat), Trinka (Angelo). Proud grandfather of Joseph, Benjamin, Rachel (Peter), Steph (Taber), Karis (Eric), Michelle (Matthew), William (Katherine), Trevor, Alex, Alexandra, Nina, Gabriel. Proud great grandfather of Andrew, Georgia, Simon, Weston, Payton. Loving brother of, Nimda (Femmy), Gerard (Greta), Bert (Betty), Willy, Nelly (Jaap) Predeceased by Harm (Jantje)

Friends and family will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Monday, January 20, from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday at Stratford Christian Reformed Church, 190 Athlone Crescent, Stratford from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place at Dorchester Union Cemetery.
