Obituary of Paul Desourdie
DESOURDIE: Paul Gerard “Oilkan”
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Paul Desourdie on Thursday, January 17th, 2019, at the age of 76 in Health Sciences North’s ICU in Sudbury after a prolonged hospital stay.
He is survived by his wife Jane, sons Ron (Shirley) of Brantford, Todd of Toronto and Craig of North Bay. He was the proud grandfather of Courtney Perrin (Joe) and Joe and Katie Desourdie of Brantford. Brother-in-law of Nina Feeney (Joe) of Mississauga and Bill Peer (Greg) of Vancouver. Also survived by niece Tasha Feeney and nephew Justin Feeney and many cousins. He has had the good fortune of some great friends in his life also. Paul was born in Barrie and worked for Texaco (later Imperial Oil) his entire working career. He was a member of the Nipissing Masonic Lodge #420 and a proud Shrine Klown known as “Oilkan” for many years while he was able. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 P.M., and on Thursday, January 24th, 2019 from 11:00am until time for a Funeral Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Cremation will follow the Funeral.
Heartfelt thanks to our extraordinary doctor – Richard Trenker for his care and support. Also thanks to the great staff at HSN and Dr. Sami Al Nasser who worked very hard to achieve success in Paul’s outcome. If desired, donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children and the North Bay Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Paul
Gerard
