Micheal Lawrence King
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Micheal Lawrence King, born March 3, 1954 in Montreal Quebec.
Micheal was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Hazel King. He is survived by his brother Robert King and his sister Kathy Allen. He was the beloved uncle of Mary and Lawrence King, Meaghan and Morgan Allan and beloved brother –in-law of Peggy King. Micheal is survived by his dear Aunt Laura, his Uncle Don, Uncle Gus; and his many cousins. Micheal was the godfather of his dear friend Lenny’s daughter, Christina. We are grateful to Lenny for his extraordinary friendship and for all he did for Micheal in his times of need. Thank you Lenny. The family would also like to extend special thanks Jimmy and Andrea Pitt for their friendship and support to during this time.
Micheal served his country in Egypt with The Canadian Peace Keeping Corp and was a long time member of The Black Watch, (Royal Highland Regiment of Canada) The family is proud of Micheal for his service.
For several years Micheal worked with Canada Gunite where he met Michael Clarke and his family. Special heartfelt thanks to the Clarke family for their condolences and friendship. Later in his life, Micheal worked at the Pointe Clarke Aquatic Club. Micheal will be missed by his co-workers who celebrated his recent retirement this fall.
The family extends gratitude to the extraordinary and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at Sacre Coeur Hospital, in the I.C.U. where Micheal passed peacefully on January 24, 2019 in his 64th year. Thanks to the nursing staff and doctors at St. Agatha Hospital who also gave compassionate care to Micheal.
Cremation will be later this week at AEterna Cremation Montreal Funeral Complex. Micheal wished to donate his organs to help others in need. A gathering in the spring will be announced at a later date to celebrate Micheal’s life.
