Marion Blanche Dorland (Cornwell)
Peacefully with her family by her side, Marion Blanche Dorland (nee Cornwell) at 93 years old passed away on January 3, 2019. Beloved mother to Ann (Stanley), Beth (Barry), Heather (Martie) and Lynn (Finian) and step-mother to David (Anne) and Clive (Patricia). Dearly loved wife to the late Keith Dorland. Survived by her sister Elinor, Predeceased by her first husband Blair MacCallum, son Douglas Blair, sister Dorothy, brother Douglas, and just 6 weeks prior, her twin Marjorie (as pictured above with Marjorie on the left and Marion on the right). Cherished grandmother to Ladd (Christy), Michael, Marion (Darrin), Marlene (Matt), Rebecca (Greg), Andrew, Jessie (Warwick), James (Chantalle), Bryan (Jessie), Giorgia, Casey, Makeham, Andrew, Steven and Sydney. Great grandmother to Sophia, Ben, Aaden, Ewan, Dominic, Sienna and Annabelle. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. A proud World War 2 Veteran stationed in Comox, BC, Marion was a wireless operator with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 18, known as Cornie she made lifelong friends with Benny, Nickie & Ernie. Highly regarded for her years of dedicated service with the City of Ottawa and the Alberta Government, Marion specialized in senior recreation & fitness programming. A special thank you to Charlene Roque, Darlene Kidd and Don DeLamorandiere for all the help and care over the last 25 years while Marion and Keith were residing in Killarney, ON. Interment and Celebration of Life are to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
