CHIASSON Marie “Agnes” – age 91, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 at Roseway Manor in Shelburne Co., N.S. Born Belledune N.B on June 30,1927 she was a daughter of the late Larry and Marie Bertin. Agnes was a mom and homemaker all her life. She loved Jesus and was forgiving, compassionate, kind, caring, loving and wise in her counsel and advice. She was also tolerant and had a great sense of humor. She taught herself how to read and then read the entire bible. Family was everything to her and they loved and adored her. She loved to travel with her family and friends and often could be found playing word puzzles and Yahtzee. She was known as “Mom” to many, even to people not directly related to her. A proud “Mama Bear”, she would always be there for family and friends alike; protecting, teaching, and encouraging. She is survived by her daughters, Irene Chiasson, Diane (Patrick) Bertin, Sheron Chiasson, Anita (Jim) Phelan, Doreen (Jean Paul) Frenette, Patsy Chiasson, Pam Chiasson, Anna Chiasson (the late Ti-Pitt Berube) , Susie Chiasson, Linda (Brad) McNeil; sons, Phil (Evelyn Gould), Rick (Yvette), Denis (Lee); brothers, George (the late Anita) Bertin and Clifford (Maureen) Bertin; sisters, Theresa (Braudus); Della Bertin; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her daughter, Geraldine in infancy and brother, Ernie. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
