Katrina Mary Ethel Halfpenny, 29 of New Glasgow formerly of Pleasant Valley Antigonish Co. left this world on Christmas Day to go dance among the stars in Heaven. Left to mourn are her parents Darlene and Mike Halfpenny, her big sister Sheena (Andrew MacDougall), Little Brother Daniel, Daughter Leyara and son Jasper. Her former wife Evelyn Dillman, Aunts: Susie (Hughie Chisholm), Elaine (Gary MacMaster), Marilyn (Peter Conrad), Carol (Rod White), Uncles: Donnie Layes, Blair (Charlene) Halfpenny, Paul (Julie) Halfpenny, her many many cousins and so many special friends, maternal grandparents: Ethel and Bernie Layes, and her Valu Village coworkers.
She was Predeceased by paternal grandparents Loyola and Doug Halfpenny, and special angel who watched over her Marianne Lanneval Matthieu.
Katrina had a great love of all things in nature, of animals and gardening. She appreciated and loved art and creating her own new pieces. Her children being her greatest creations they were and always will be her best. She was and always will be so proud of being their mother, teaching them and watching them grow into great little people. Her love of them was and always will be endless. God now has another angel.
Katrina was one who walked to her own beat; she had a heart of gold as big as the world itself. Always looking out for those around and letting her actions speak more than her words.
The world will never be the same without her. Forever missed forever loved.
Resting in St. Peter’s Place, Tracadie on Saturday December 29, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday December 30, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.;
Members of St. Peters CWL are asked to meet Sunday at 2pm at St. Peters Place , Tracadie for Prayers for the late Katrina Halfpenny
Funeral Mass will be offered Monday December 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. from St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie with Rev. John Barry presiding; burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Merland.
Traditional funeral flowers respectfully declined , the request of the family that all flowers be sustainable (potted) which be planted in a garden on the spring in memory of Katrina.
Memorial Donations to be made to the Antigonish Branch of the SPCA.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
