Joan Viola Crandall
1935-2019
Joan Viola Crandall – age 83, of Kentville, passed away on
Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Shannex – Park Stone Enhanced
Care. Born in Halls Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Everett
and Cora (Huntley) Crandall. She had been employed with the federal
government for over 20 years in the Old Age Security department. She
enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was an active member of
her church and especially enjoyed traveling with her sister, Marion.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Myrtis
Bennett; Marion Crandall and Betty Lockwood. She is survived by two
nephews, Larry (Linda) Bennett; Gerald (Pierrette) Bennett; a niece,
Peggy Ricketts; several cousins and extended family members. At
Joan’s request, there will be no funeral service. Visitation
will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 in the
White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A graveside service will be held
at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the Elm Grove Cemetery,
Steam Mill, Kings County, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating.
Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society
or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
