Obituary for James «Jim» Robert Loughran
It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of James “Jim” Robert Loughran of Mayerthorpe, AB, on January 1, 2019 at the age of 91 years.
Jim logged and farmed in Connor Creek, AB and was lucky to have been able to live in his home where he was raised and lived until 12 days before he passed. Jim enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and sharing his amazing stories of almost 92 years gone by. His memory and recall for details was unbelievable. Everyone who knew Jim will miss his sense of humour and famous one-liners. Each of his nieces and nephews will always cherish their many fond memories of Jim. Predeceased by his parents, William and Clara; infant brother, Phillip; sisters, Opal (Aca) Thomas, Mabel (Tom) Birkbeck, Dorothy (Allie) Arthur, Phyllis (Bill) Fischer and Catherine (Leo) Fischer.
Thank you to the doctors and staff of the Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre for the wonderful care shown to Jim.
At Jim’s request, no service will be held. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
