Peacefully in his own home,
Leslie Aitken passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the age of
71. Born in Montague PEI on May 2nd, 1947, he
was the eldest son of the late James & Margaret (Beaton)
Aitken.
Leslie retired from NBTel
after 28 years as a Central Office Equipment Installer. Post
retirement he worked part time for Clear Power Solutions in Saint
John, NB.
Leslie was active in Scouts
Canada, the Mactaquac Lake Association, and minor hockey. He also
enjoyed boating and snowmobiling in his spare
time.
Survived by his wife of 46
years Linda (Kitchen) Aitken, one son Matthew (Arlene) Aitken, two
grandsons James & Logan of Harewood NB, one sister Margaret
Aitken of PEI, two brothers Douglas Aitken (Beth) of Nova Scotia,
Kenny Aitken (Jackie) of PEI, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Aside from his parents, he
was predeceased by one brother Gordon
Aitken.
Respecting
Leslie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral
service. However, the family would like to extend an invitation to an
informal gathering and sharing of memories on Thursday, January
24th, 2019 from 3-5 PM at the Moco Kitchen at
Mactaquac, 1265 Route 105 Mactaquac
NB.
The family has designated
Hospice House or the NB Extra Mural program for memorial
contributions.
Bishop’s Funeral
Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton (458-1885) have been entrusted
with the arrangements.
