OBITUARY
Isabel Aitchison
June 16, 1922 – January 7, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce Isabel’s passing at the age of 96. Isabel’s memory will be treasured by her Daughter-in-law Terri (Doug) and Granddaughter Shannon (Kris). She is survived by her sister Lenore; ‘adopted family’ John & Lori Cobb, Megan, Kathleen (Nathan); and many nieces & nephews. Pre-deceased by her husband Jock (1992) & son Monty (2007), brother Wendell, sisters Louise, Thelma, Alice & Kate.
Isabel was born in Odessa, Sask. She met Jock in Regina and waited for him to return home safely from the war. Isabel followed Jock to Port Alberni where they married and built their home on Johnson Road. Isabel worked at Super Value for many years. Upon retirement she became a member of the Sunshine Club for 35 years. She volunteered for many of those years with the Friendly Phone Service and was always happy to give somebody a ride to the many activities the club was known for. Baking, camping, travels to Hawaii & RVing to Arizona gave her such enjoyment. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and spirit. But nothing ever topped the love she had for her Granddaughter. Shannon was the light in her Grandma’s life.
Mom moved to Abbeyfield where she made so many friends before moving to Echo Village. Special thanks to the staff at Abbeyfield, Echo Village, and Dr. Lund. You are all extraordinary, caring people.
