Heman Ford Hibbs
January 17, 1951 – November 05, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Heman Ford Hibbs, age 67, of Triton, NL announces his passing on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor.
As a young man, Heman began working as a logger. He then moved away from the logging industry and worked at the Triton Crab Plant for a few years. Heman is remembered by Louise Lush as a very hard and dedicated worker; he use to crab fish with Louise and her husband Cyril during the summer crab fishery.
Anyone who knew Heman knew he didn’t always make the best choices for his life and this impacted his ability to continue working. Despite this, he still had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar to someone in need.
He enjoyed his dog Ginger and liked to spend time with his friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Hilda Hibbs; brothers Hubert Hibbs, John Hibbs, Eric Hibbs, Melvin Hibbs; brothers-in-law Mervin Winsor, Don Tizzard, Arthur Roberts.
Heman leaves to mourn his sisters Vivian (Raymond) Rolfe, Salome (Claude) Winsor, Ruth Tizzard (Reg Swain), Dorothy Winsor (Hughie Ryan); brother Wilmore (Barbara) Hibbs; sisters-in-law Ruby Hibbs, Janice Hibbs, Kelly Hibbs, Jeanie Hibbs; a large number of nephews and nieces, as well a large circle of other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service took place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Triton, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Major Roxann Feltham officiating. Interment was at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery, Triton. Pallbearers were nephews Perry Roberts, Derwin Roberts, Dino Winsor, Todd Winsor, Jeff Hibbs, Boyd Andrews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
