Gordon Daniel Power, 63

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Daniel Power, age 63, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at home, surrounded by family.
Born in Alder Point on June 19, 1955, Gordon was the son of Daniel “Donnie” Power and the late Geraldine (Devoe) Power.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sylvia (Thurbide) Power, and his children Troy (Aimee) Power, and Kerriann Power. Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Tori, Dylan, Dustin and Sophia, sisters Jeannie Sterling (Tex), Angel Bonar (Joseph), and Laura Lee Power.
Besides his mother, Gordon was predeceased by his sister Catherine (Kay) Hodder, and brother Steven.
His family would like to thank the Palliative Care workers and Dr. John Ritter for their help these past few weeks; Dr. Michel McKeough and Louise, and Gordie’s work family for their support. Thank you also to my work family at Foodland in Sydney Mines for the kindness you’ve shown, especially the Deli girls.
At his request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering in his memory at the Alder Point Hall on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
