On January 12, 2019, at the age of 70 years, Gary’s soul lifted off and his spirit is soaring through clear blue skies to reach out to touch the face of God.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, Katherine; mother, Mary; brother, Brian (Lorrie); sister, Shelley (Ron); nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins; all held dear to his heart, showing how important family was to him.
Gary was predeceased by his father, Hans Leon Sorge.
Gary had four great loves in his life – his wife Katherine, flying, fishing, and photography. He was very proud of having earned his Instructor’s Rating in flying single engine airplanes, his black belt in Wado-Ryu Karate, and catching his Tyee salmon! He always generously shared his memorable photographs of his travels with Katherine, where they created many wonderful memories together. Gary and Katherine’s mutual adoration of each other was always evident throughout their 45 years of marriage. Although Katherine’s heart is broken, she knows she has a lifetime of joyful memories to comfort her.
A private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully appreciated at www.cnetscanada.org or Carcinoid NeuroEndocrine Tumour Society of Canada c/o Vernon Holt, Secretary – Treasurer,1608 Blakely Drive, Cornwall, Ontario, K6J 5P4.
