Passing of Reg. No. 15750, Emanuel (Emil) Keen.
With much sadness we advise of the passing of Emil Keen of Keremeos, BC. on January 3rd, 2019. Emil was born on August 18th, 1926. He joined the force on March 15th, 1949 and retired as a sergeant from the security service in Vancouver on Sept. 27th, 1974.
Despite failing health due to cancer, Emil continued to work on his organic apple orchard in Keremeos, an endeavour of love of which he was very proud. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
While Emil was not a member of the RCMP Veterans’ Association he had many friends within the retired ranks of the force. We extend sincere condolences to Emil’s family and friends.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Cawston Community Cemetery, 9901 Kalamalka Road, Cawston, BC. on Saturday, January 19th, commencing at 11 am. RCMP Chaplain Reverend John Briscall will be officiating. The family has requested an RCMP Veterans’ honour guard from the South Okanagan Division. Following the service there will be a “friends and family” reception at Cawston United Church, 2146 Main Street, Cawston, BC. from 12 noon until 2 pm.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Emanuel ‘Emil’ Keen August 18 1926 January 3 2019 (age 92)..
