Obituary of Eileen Groundsell
Eileen Patricia “Lee” Groundsell, age 87, born January 28, 1931, in Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 16, 2019, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry. Beloved wife of the late Percy Groundsell. Dear sister of the late Gladys Ferguson, David Ferguson, William Ferguson, Robert Ferguson, Samuel Bruce Ferguson, and she survived by her sisters Viola Wood, Bernice Novis and her sister-in-law Jean Ferguson and brother-in-law Peter Groundsell (England). Deeply missed by her niece Terry Ann Criscione (John) and their children Vince Criscione (deceased) (Karin), Jill Shosenberg (Paul) and Charlene Criscione (Tony Proulx). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the nursing staff at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry and their deepest gratitude to Dr. Curtis Hadden for his endless compassion and care of Lee.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Lee Groundsell will be held on Saturday, February 2nd at the Port Perry Villa, 15987 Simcoe Street in Port Perry from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
