Edward Arthur Meighen

Edward Arthur Meighen, born in 1942, Vancouver, Canada to Arthur Meighen and Jessie Edwards. Passed at 76, in Edmonton, Alberta, a proud scientist, and father. Missed by his loving wife, Gail. Loved by his daughter, Michelle (David), his son Bruce (Alison), and his sister Elaine and brother Randy. Timeless is the love by his teenage sweetheart Janice Rodman (first wife) and his grandchildren Kyle, Brenna, Erin and Savannah.
A magnificent journey started in the 60’s with a family and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. Later joining the teams from Harvard and as a new professor with McGill University. He supported McGill’s rise to leadership in biochemistry with his colleagues, Walter Mushynski and Robert MacKenzie. Diligent as a researcher, a mentor for decades of scientists and loved as a husband, father, brother, grandparent, friend, and colleague.
The family would like to thank the loving and professional care he received from the emergency & 5th Floor staff at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton.
Please note that because Ted has family, friends and colleagues all across Canada and in the USA, the family will be not be having a memorial service. Instead they will be having a private family celebration of life.
