Our beloved Drew, surrounded by his loving family, peacefully passed away on the morning of Sunday January 27, 2019, at the age of 66. Much loved husband of Terry for almost 46 years. Loving father of Cole (Melissa) and Lindsay (Lisle). Proud, playful and adoring OGO to his beautiful granddaughter Maya. Predeceased by his loving parents Norm and Beth Carpenter. Wonderful brother to Lyn Carpenter, Lee (Pam) Carpenter, Rae Michaels, and Kim Carpenter-Gunn (Joel Gunn). Proud uncle of Jodi (Natalio), Stephen (Shauna), Jenny (Jason), Matt (Lindsey) and Madison. Loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Drew is also survived by sisters-in-law Trish (Kevin) and Marian, and brother-in-law Joe (Janice), as well as his surviving aunts Lucille Carpenter and June Sibbick, and many cousins. Loving friend to Rick and Sandy, Johnny, Eddie, Veronica and Flav (deceased). Whether you knew him as “Boo”, “The Carp”, “Big D”, “Daddy”, “Dad”, “Pops”, “Uncle Drew”, “Captain Plate”, “Chief T”, or “OGO”, Drew will be greatly missed. He will be most fondly remembered for his fabulous sense of humour, his beaming smile and cheeky laugh, his love for family and friends, and his passion for music, sports and comedy. At Drew’s request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held this coming summer – details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre and/or Ian Anderson House. Special thanks for all the care and kindness given to Drew by all the medical personnel that supported him.
