OBITUARY
Dr. Algimantas Saunoris
May 8, 1928 – January 6, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Algimantas Saunoris on Sunday, January 6.
Algimantas leaves behind his adoring wife Dale, and loving children Raimonda, Gedis and daughter-in-law Erin. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Vytautas. Algimantas will be deeply missed by family in Vilnius, his longtime friend Vytautas Vaidziulis, and many friends and former colleagues in Lithuania.
Algimantas worked for many years as a member of the cardiovascular surgical team at the Hamilton General Hospital, and had his own private practice. He was an accomplished athlete and the recipient of countless awards, most notably the prestigious Lithuanian presidential decree in 2005. Despite this, he was known for his modest character, humour and kind and gentle soul.
Visitation at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main St. E. (east of Sanford Ave.), Hamilton, on Friday, January 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Lithuanian Church, 58 Dundurn St. N., Hamilton.
