Murray, Darren Lawrence – age 53 of New Glasgow, passed away January 1, 2019 at home. Born in Tatamagouche, he was the son of Everett Murray and the late Geneva (nee Matheson) Murray. Darren grew up in Wentworth and graduated from Pugwash High School. He then graduated from a men’s hair styling school in Halifax and worked for a while in the industry. He enjoyed sports, especially skiing and skating and loved animals. He was an all around good and caring person and was proud to care for his mother during her illness. He is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Jeromiah) Ferdinand; granddaughter, Mia Ferdinand; father, Everett; sister, Debbie (David) Flanagan; brother, Darrell; nieces and nephews, Fred, Derek, Melissa, Ashley, Bradley, Stephanie, Jennifer and Narda; several grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, David; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Muriel Matheson; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Marjorie Murray. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 12 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. A private interment service will be held at a later date in Wentworth Cemetery.
