Obituary for Bruce Dennis Cook
With great sadness, the family of Bruce Dennis Cook announce his sudden passing after a brief illness at the Welland Hospital. Bruce passed away on January 2, 2019 at the age of 68. He lived life fully and is dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Karen (Keating). He saw his sons Shawn and Jeremy, marry their beautiful wives, Amy and Mandy. He was a proud and loving grandfather of Rhiannon, Leah and Zoey. His brother Carm and in laws Jim and Pam, Kathy and Tony, Wendy, Barbie and Jarmo, and many nephews and nieces remember him fondly. Though his time was shorter than we would have liked, he made the most of it. Bruce was a Special Ed teacher for 30 years. In his retirement he was able to travel with his wife, he also enjoyed fishing and beating his granddaughters at scrabble. He played pickle ball and bridge and enjoyed parties with his dinner group and the breakfast gang. He was a great guy with a big heart and was well loved.
Family and friends will be received at the PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Monday, January 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Vigil Prayers being said at 7pm at evening. The Funeral Mass to honour Bruce’s life will take place at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street, Welland on Tuesday, January 7th beginning at 11:00 am. A private interment will be held on a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Welland I.C.U. or the Dialysis Unit at the Welland Hospital.
