Benoit Richard
1935-2019
POINTE-SAPIN, NB – Benoit Richard 83, of
Pointe-Sapin passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital,
Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Born in
Pointe-Sapin, he was the son of the late Edmond Richard and late
Melina (Daigle) Richard. Before retiring, Benoit was a
fisherman. He was a member of the Golden Age
Club.
Benoit will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years,
Diana (Roy) Richard of Pointe-Sapin; four daughters, Janice Daigle
(Jean-Guy), Carolle Daigle (Roland), Berthe Richard (Gilbert) all of
Pointe-Sapin, Lisa Paradis (Marc) of Moncton; two sons,
Réjean Richard (Sophie) of Vaudreuil, Quebec,
Léonce Richard (Julia) of Pointe-Sapin; nine grandchildren,
Denis, Jean-Charles, Simon, Dani, Samuel, Myriam, Yannick, Emilie,
Alex and three great grandchildren, Samuel, Nathan and
Meghan.
He is also survived by four sisters, Rhea Maillet (late
Ronald) of Moncton, Lorraine Stewart (Gerald) of Rexton, Claudia
Daigle (late Arsène) of Pointe-Sapin, Geneva LeBlanc (Elmo)
of St. Louis; three brothers, Edouard Richard (Norma) of Montreal,
Abdon Richard (Odette) of Pointe-Sapin, Elmo Richard (Huguette) of
Pointe-Sapin and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers,
Hector, Elphege, Aquila and Maurice.
Visitation will be held at the Pointe-Sapin Community Center
on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Friday at 1:00 pm until
departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated
on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 3:00 pm, St. Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church, Pointe-Sapin. Arrangements are in care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
